About Paul Oneto

A songwriter who resides in the nostalgic, Paul’s music has been described as "recalling memories from a life you’ve never experienced." In his music you will find the melodic ambient qualities of indie folk artists like Band of Horses and the haunting lyrical stylings reminiscent of Jeff Buckley which he uses to share heartfelt songs that explore love, life, and loneliness.

Born and raised in Connecticut’s New Haven County Paul always felt a connection to music. After endlessly begging his parents to play The Beatles “For Sale”  in the living room he was eventually rewarded with his first guitar. At the age of eight he was gifted a black Fernandez complete with built in amplifier which he played tirelessly. At eighteen, Paul moved to New York City to study English at Manhattan College and became infatuated with seeing bands at clubs like CBGB and The Bowery Ballroom. He immersed himself in artists like Jets To Brazil and Elliott Smith where he found emotional refuge while struggling with challenges from mental health, depression, and childhood trauma. After a few semesters in New York he gave up English to focus on his passion and studied Jazz Performance. He made a personal promise to dedicate his life to the creation of music with the hope that his voice would bring that same refuge, love, and hope he had found to the lonely and lost. Now has found his voice in Northern California where he pursues that promise by recording, playing live, and growing in the music scene.
